The price was very disproportionate to the quality of the products we saw. Bought a jar of apple butter - the worst we've ever eaten: sour and unappealing (and it was the one that allegedly contained sugar). We were very disappointed in this orchard and its offerings - especially after all the "hype" on the website. Cancelling the email updates for this orchard. Underwhelmed.
Two stars is a generous review. The apples in the store were pathetic, at best - full of bruises and worm holes. We tried to pick out the better looking ones, but that was a real challenge! When we got home and attempted to use the few we did buy, we discovered the quality of apples we used to throw away when we had our own apple tree. Unusable for the most part. We understand the apples are organically grown, but...
We went on a beautiful day and had a great time picking apples! Make sure to taste the ripe apples inside before you go into the orchard so that you get an idea for which apples you’d like to pick and take home. I also recommend the apple turnover and cinnamon ice cream - delicious! You can ride the tractor for free if you buy some apples to take home. Great place to bring kids! Only negative is that there are a lot of bees (they must be very happy bees!). No one got stung but they are bothersome
Wide pick your own apple and pumpkin selection. Free apple samples. Food made on sight for purchase. $5 tractor rides to and around the orchids. The $5 goes back to your purchase. We go every year. Not good for people with mobility limitations.
We had a great experience here. They had a nice variety of good quality apples within a short walk, and beautiful views of the surrounding scenery (not just cornfields!). The apple cider was good, as were the apple doughnuts. I especially appreciated their apple sampling stand, where you could grab slices of varieties that you don't see in the stores. We did the tractor ride, which seems expensive at $5/person until you find out that the tractor tickets can be redeemed for a dollar for dollar discount on any apples purchased, which means it's free if you are buying apples. The lunch food truck served a good lunch, too. All in all a great way yo spend a fall day.
Ive been here 3x in the past year. It's a great place for families or couples. Value for money. Lovely variety of apples. Perfect for a picnic lunch. Great desserts and drinks. Some things in store are a little pricey but no one is pushing them on you which I appreciate. Customer service is top notch. Kids love the tractor ride on "Bessie".
