This is my second year leasing with hodge Construction and I couldn't be more pleased with the way they treat their tenents. Both apartments I have lived in owned by them, have been clean, safe, and nice places to live at very reasonable prices. They do not try to scam you like other property managers do in the area. All the staff in their office are kind and very helpful. Best apartments in Iowa City by far
Definitely the worst apartment complex that I've ever lived in. The staff is awful and the apartments are gross. They give you a huge sheet of what you should clean, but you can tell when you move in that they didn't clean it like that. We had chipped drawers when we moved in that need to be fixed and I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to make us pay for it.
The best damn apartment renting place in town. My wife and I had terrible experiences with Apartments Downtown, and a few others.
This probably the best place to rent your apartment. I was with them for 2 years. They did not take out any of my deposit because I simply cleaned it before I check out. Unlike ALL the other agencies which take out at lease half of your deposit for their additional cleaning.
The apartment we rented from Hodge had noisy downstairs neighbors, who often had loud fights. I think they were throwing each other against the walls. The interior doors inside the building were a little too narrow, which made carrying beds and couches through them awkward, especially as the stairs had a very small landing where you had to do two 90 degree turns in very little space.
They are nice if you respect them back! The repairs were made promptly. The building is kept up. Loved the included parking places. My only complaint is when they had any construction or repairs to be made they would enter the apartment 8am or earlier.
But the internet always functioned, we got most of our damage deposit back, nothing broke while we lived there, it never rained inside, no animals got in, we did not have an insect problem.... compared to every other apartment company we have used in Iowa City, this one is the best.
