The lower level bar is kinda gross, but Gabes has a great back patio for summer time drinking.
Went to a show and had to pay to enter, which is usually never a problem. Got in around 10:30, and the show that was suppose to go until 1:00 ended after three songs. My friends and I paid full price for 15 minutes of a concert we were very eager to see. No refund, and we were only offered one 3$ beer as compensation. I drove all the way from Cedar Falls Iowa and was highly disappointed. Won't be back.
The live music is very good in this place. Although it is small but it is nice. However, they might need to change the lighting of the place.

Gabe's puts on the best shows in Iowa City. When the weather is nice the patio is one of the best in the city.
