It's an absolutely beautiful space that enables a small city like Iowa City to feel like a major metropolitan area, bringing in some very impressive acts. Hancher is also very good for the city as a whole in it's outreach to the community in aiming to include more people that may feel marginalized.
Beautiful performing arts center. With great architecture on the outside and beautiful artwork and lighting on the inside. This is one of the best places in Iowa to see world class performances in an elegant space.
The old Hancher was a great space, but the new facility is stunning. The lighting creates a very vibrant and warm environment, and the acoustics are brilliant. Take some extra time and explore the entire facility!
