We also had to tell Tracy to actually attend the showings, instead of just passing our garage code off to buyer’s agents. When potential buyers had questions, he wasn’t there to address them directly. I truly believe we could have had a higher offer earlier on if he would have worked harder from the beginning. He definitely did the bare minimum instead of going above and beyond for us.
Tracy is a nice guy, I will say that. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed in the quality of service we received while selling our house. Tracy could not sell our house at the price he said he could sell it at (which was the price we all agreed it was worth). In fact, since we were relocating and needed to sell our home so that we could purchase a new one, we accepted over $20,000 LESS than what he originally priced it at. When all was said and done, he made about $12,000 more than us off of the sale. This was after living in the house for six years, doing many improvements, and having a very desirable neighborhood (University Heights – walking distance to UIHC and Kinnick). All unfortunate, but like I said- we had to sell so I came to terms that we were going to get less than what we put into it. What really got me though was that he asked us to send him $15 when all was said and done to mail our check to us. Again, this was after making $12,000 more than us off of the sale of our house. At that point, it isn’t about the measly $15; it’s about good customer service. I think it is almost laughable that he asked us to cover this cost.
Having known Tracy for a number of years, I can say it's always been a good experience working around and with him. Even though he's with another company and I'm also a real estate agent I would be happy to work a deal alongside Tracy at any time. Keep up the good work T!
Again – I am not trying to bash Tracy’s character, I believe he is a nice person. He just didn’t put in the work and provide the customer service we expected when paying a lot of money for realty services. I would highly suggest you do your research, and go with a different realtor in the Iowa City area.
