Love the small $10 pet fee. Great breakfast. Clean room. Only complaint would be that our shower was lukewarm. May have been because of a -20 degree night though.
Secondly, I had talked about this to other friends of mine who were visiting Iowa City or had in the past and they had similar issues messy rooms or the service being slow. This was the first time I had stayed here and it will be the last.
I was nervous about staying here cause there were mixed reviews about this hotel. I have stayed in hotels were i would have slept better if i had slept on the floor so i booked it with some apprehension. I was very very pleased! Super clean. The room looked great, bed was very comfortable! Even the pool was clean. Little sad no hot tub though. But that was my biggest upset. Would stay here again in a heart beat!
Two things that I was disappointed in with this place.
We stayed at this hotel and left 2 king sized memory foam pillows in our room. When I called I kept getting the same answer “I’ll ask the housekeepers, call back later” Finally he told me the don’t have them and to have a nice day. I do not recommend staying here!!!
For one, our room and even my buddies room was extremely messy and had garbage including cigarettes (we were in a non-smoking room), used towels, and left over food. We were on a business trip too so two of my friends were District Managers of other businesses. Luckily, there weren't any bugs. The nastiest thing was that there was a used condom by the bed too. I tried calling the front desk and it took them 2 hours before they had someone come up to fix and clean my room - we didn't get a new room or any kind of commodities to help with that! Oh and I was overcharged on my room by $50 dollars and they tried telling me it was my fault but after showing him my confirmation number it was his fault.
This place was great -- no complaints whatsoever. The pool was pretty nice, room was spacious with a comfy bed and nice amenities to boot. Had complimentary breakfast in the morning and was more than satisfied with what they offered. Front desk guy was helpful and pleasant. Definitely will consider this place on the next visit to Iowa City -- especially for such a great price.
