This is one of the worst run businesses in Iowa City. The chocolate ice cream machine has been down at least since I last tried to get ice cream in November. I was told they are "waiting on riverside Dairy Queen to get a new one and then they will get theirs." It seems like it comes down to the owner being too cheap to replace one out of only two flavors provided. Owning a GOOD business means investing in it. Seriously, suck it up and fix your restaurant.
This is my favorite location by far. Its so homely and I never feel like I need to rush out. The food is amazing and doesn't taste like frozen microwaved stuff some other locations serve.
I tried to get ice cream 20 minutes before their 9pm closing time on a Saturday and they were already cleaning and locked the doors. If I were to have worked somewhere and closed before the official closing time, I’d be fired. Not happy, and you just lost my business.

Just tonight, I arrived at the store fifteen minutes before closing and the door was locked. The teenager waiting to leave his shift looked directly at me and did not open the door. This is not the first time early closing prevented me from getting a treat. It will never happen at this location again.
