Delicious pizza - and this is coming from someone (me) who has worked in a certified Neapolitan pizzeria for 9 months in the past.
The restaurant has a lovely ambiance. Even though the tables around us were occupied, we could talk to each other. No blaring music or TVs! It was obvious a lot of caring went into our food; it was delicious. The staff was attentive and welcoming.
Great experience. Very unique offering of neapolitan style pizzas in the Iowa City area.
My pizza was pretty good, and the service was exemplary. Others'pizza in my group were better, but nothing we had was sub par. Dining area was very nice, but one trivial complaint would be the lighting. Wrong application of spot lights where a wider beam angle would be more appropriate; they create a small harsh glare in one small area of the table and dark shadow everywhere else.
Pizza was yummy. They really take the time to make sure it comes out perfect. The pizzas are more of a personal size. The baratta was presented really beautifully as well. I had pizza with arugula and a poached egg, while others got margarita, and a sausage pizza. We all enjoyed it. The pizza my boyfriend got wasn't perfectly round, which was totally fine, however when the owner brought it over he insisted that they were making a new one free of charge for him to take home because it didn't come out to their standards. I would definitely go here again. Cute place with a nice atmosphere and hand made pizza.
Would like to see them have a happy hour with better drink specials - would create a more relaxed atmosphere. Without any specials, the prices are a bit high ($$) - giving it a sense of a special occasion before I would make it here.
Super great atmosphere. Very cozy and unique. The pizzas are amazing and their house salad is INCREDIBLE. Great beer selection too and the owner and staff are all really nice. Highly recommend! Might want to make a reservation because it does fill up!
Also would like to see better arrangement of server stations - we had one next to our table (near the street) which was a little distracting and weird.
