steven nguyen has never even been into this shop. Mike remembers faces and names and he has no idea who he is. and even then mike has 40 + years of experience who do you want to trust? The dealership who over charges and just wants to get you to buy something or the only machine shop left in iowa city that the dealerships come to for help and to do work for them.
Amazing service. He knows what hes doing and is very skilled. Works on a wide range of things and is very kind. Always makes sure he gives you a reasonable price
Unfriendly/unfair prices and service, I brought my head cylinder here for valve spring and valve stem installation and was expecting top notch quality service. Before my head cylinder was brought in it was completely straight and had already been milled before being dropped off to this shop. A few days later I get a call stating that my head cylinder will need to be milled/resurface due to my head cylinder being warped, I knew then that taking my head cylinder here was clearly a mistake. I ended up taking my head cylinder back and going to a reputable machine shop instead because of the terrible non-reputable service, rude attitude towards customers and the mechanic lied to me to try and make some extra cash. I hope the next person that reads this takes my experience at this shop into consideration when having work done at this shop.
Mike has repaired all my cars for the past 15 years. He's an excellent all-around mechanic. He's kept by 2003 Chrysler Minivan running (160K) and minimizes my expense whenever he can. He does what's necessary, not what makes him the most money. I trust him implicitly.
