The Eye Gasses and prescription Sun Glasses products, both frames and lenses, have always held up well over long periods of time. The most amazing product, which I purchased for my 4 most recent Eye Glasses, are frames from a company called ECO. That company sells frames that are made from Recycled materials, cost about half of the price of frames not from Recycled materials, are very durable, and are very nice looking. I have purchased both metal and plastic, which comes in different colors, versions of ECO Frames.
Always a terrific place for eye exams, state-of-the art lenses, and designer frames.
I've been doing my annual eye exams and ordering my contact lenses through McDonald Optical's downtown location for about five years and I couldn't be happier with the services provided. I've seen two optometrists there and both have been excellent and very, very knowledgeable. The reception staff is always friendly and helpful. They also have an excellent selection of women's frames. Highly recommended!
Best optometrist around and they carry many designer frames that cannot be found in Eastern Iowa.
I just can not say enough good things about every aspect of McDonald Optical. Over the past 30+ years, I have had all of my Eye Exams and purchased all of my Prescription Eye Glasses and Sun Glasses from this business. I have found Optometrist Dr. Annette Nickel, O.D., as well a her predecessors, to be extremely pleasant, caring, and well-trained Professionals who make use of state-of-the-art eye examination instrumentation to assist them with the accurate diagnosis that they make.
I would not have known that ECO frames were an option available at the store if it's friendly, helpful staff hadn't brought them to my attention when I needed new glasses. All frame purchases THAT I have made since then have been from ECO.
Lastly, the business is very well-run and customer- oriented. I always receive reminders of upcoming appointments. I also promptly receive friendly phone calls from their staff when something is ready for me to pick up at their store.
